cos help

I'm trying to build a cos for a boosted 6.0. I have read the file and I don't have an option for a cos. do I have to perform a full flash before this will become available. I'm using a operating system that is shown in the tutorial to have a supported cos.

i performed a full flash and it failed. then i flashed stock cal. and read it out of curosity and it shows ve to be in psi and rpm. this what i would expect accoring to all i have read. is this correct?

No... the COS file matching your OS would already exist in the Custom OS folder.

The flash having failed is indicating to you that it may be incomplete.

You're not doing it right...

if you don't have a COS that matches the original OS, then after you full flash the COS, you won't be able to cal flash from the original OS (since the base OS id's will be different).

12212156 os and tried using (trying to recall but I think it is) cos 02020003 and 05. I am running v7.5.7 software.. I found the cos in the tutorial that corresponds with my os. not sure what is going wrong.

If your original OS is 12212156, then you would first read it out and save it to a file, then you would full flash 02020003, and then cal flash from saved file...

is this what you did...?

If it's not going right, then full flash the 12212156 file and start again.

that's was what i had done.

tried again tonight.

i started from the 12212156 cal full flashed(not problems) then full flashed 02020003 and the flash gets almost the end and fails. if any of my values were out of range would this have an effect on the cos flash? i ran a flash simulation of the cos and it failed the same way.

ok so running as administrator is the fix. i wasn't getting the 3-4min programming process of the flash before and it works fine now. still shows flash fails but it's after the reprogramming phase of the process.

In the text box (the log of what happens when you flash), can you copy all of it (place cursor in box, do CTRL-A CTRL-C) and paste it here (CTRL-V) in a reply to this thread...

cos is now loaded and cal is flash in. read the file and the cos is there. adjusted what I needed and now ready to tune.

Be sure to fix B3647 and any out-of-range A00xx cells.

hey joe, i was looking and reading the user note in A0011 and it reads that this is used on (j2,pin56) shouldn't it be C2,pin 56?

I fixed all oor cells along with B3647, hopefully when it warms up a little and stops raining i can start tuning this vega. A 6.0 with a turbo should move it ok..

If you look at the the PCM ... there is "J1 BLUE" cast into the metal body of the PCM, near the BLUE (C1 / J1 / X1) connector. The terms are used interchangeably.
