I have a few questions/concerns I want to address before jumping in to this
first the vehicle. I have a 1999 GMC Jimmy with an 03 LQ9 running on a 12200411 pcm and a 12212156 OS
I want to run flex fuel because I plan to swap back to a 4.8 with a M112 (later project) but also just want the ability to run flex fuel since they just put in an E85 fill station 2 miles from my work
I read a thread about using the 411 with flex fuel but it doesn't look like the support is there for it.
I also have been reading about the 12586243 pcm and here are the questions I have.
1. I need to keep the analog AC request from the AC control and I also want to keep DBC throttle. Can i run flex fuel with a van OS? I believe most vans had DBC throttle?
2. Can the van OS and 243 pcm support the new cheaper flex fuel sensor?
3. I have been reading about E-fans with the van OS and that they need an AC pressure switch, If I dont add the pressure Switch can i just set it up so the fans turn on anytime the AC is requested? adding the sensor is not a deal breaker, I just dont really want to open my AC system again (long story behind that).
I am willing to do a good bit of effort to get this to work, my main concerns are keeping the DBC throttle and using the new sensor thats not ~$400. those are the only 2 things that would be a deal breaker for me and making this work.
