I have 2 v2s with screens that are hard to read. They have horizontal and vertical lines running across the screen. When plugged in with a USB port they are not as bad, and when plugged into an OBDII cable they are much harder to read. The one on the left has been like this as long as I can remember. The one on the right was perfect for about two years, then starting looking like this one day. They have not been left in the sun, dropped, sat on, etc. Anyone have this issue?

Both V2s plugged in with USB:
16653

Plugged in with OBDII cable:
16654

Plugged in with OBDII cable:
16655

You have to set the LCD brightness to a suitable value (so the lines disappear).

I meant Contrast, not Brightness (I don't see a Brightness control), sorry my bad.

But I did notice that the wrong value of Contrast will cause those lines to appear, and the right value will make them disappear.

My flashscan has been like that since new. I never worried too much about it... I just thought that's the way it's supposed to look. Anyway, I just tried bumping up the contrast and it's so much easier to read now. :good:

I will give that a shot. Thanks.

The early V2 hardware did not have contrast control.

You can try inverting the display foreground/background, the control for this is in V8 S&T -> Devices -> Display -> Visibility.

Tried that to, can they be updated if sent in? Thanks

The V2's pictured in post one are black cases, so no Contrast adjustment for them.

What happens f you start up the V2 on the USB cable and then plug in the OBDII cable? If the screen starts ok and then changes as soon as the ODBII is connected, it may be the voltage regulator playing up. That will need to be sent in for repair to fix that.

Mine must be early then because there is no control over the contrast.

The contrast adjustment worked for both units. The lighting in my pictures wasn't very good, so the v2s may look black.

Good work. Easy fix is a good fix ;)

The screen can be replaced, but we need to check if we have spares or if the blue v2 screen is internchangabke.

The contrast option does not become available by changing the screen. There are resistors added to the blue V2 to allow that feature.

Thanks Cindy, I know it definitely needs a new touch pad the clear portion over the display is pretty scratched adding to the problem, were can I order that or a new case? Sorry to the O/P just figured no sense in starting a new topic this one had the display covered.
