Many Thanks to Joecar for helping me get this functional. I have made a .cax file for the "Gear Indicator Type" for the 2001-2007 LS1b PCMs. After these are installed you will find the parameter D2400. These .cax files allow you to set the "Gear Indicator Type" to "None", "PRNDL", "P/N". This should be very handy for retrofit projects. I'm sure I don't have all of the operating systems covered for those years but there are a total of 17 operating systems covered in these 5 .cax files. I didn't make any for the 1999 and 2000. I feel it is too easy to upgrade those to the better 2002 operating system. I have them listed as 5 separate .cax files. Follow the directions in GMPX's sticky about .cax files for where to install them into the software. Remember, If you already have any .cax files that cover these O/S, you will have to add the contents of these into those folders. If you don't already have any .cax files for these O/S, you will have to make duplicate copies of them and name them the number of the O/S that they correspond to.
01-02 covers O/S 12202088, 12208322, 01270003, 01270005, 12212156, 02020003, 02020005
2003 covers O/S 12579405
2004 covers O/S 12587603, 12587604, 04073003, 04073005
2005 covers O/S 12592618, 12606961
06-07 covers O/S 12587811, 12605114, 12597120

Lextech,
A huge thank you for doing this. I am a novice LS1 swapper, and have stuck with F-body OS's due to this (an the whole A/C type) issue (I don't have Tuner Cat). Having this now in EFI Live should help many other swappers.
THANK YOU!!!!

Some quick feedback about these CAX files. I tried it for 2002 OS's (12212156) and noticed that the truck, van and corvette tunes (I grabbed them off of the Tune File Depot) showed (PRNDL) for D2400. But when I loaded in a Camaro tune (2002, 12212156 OS, from Tune File Depot), it showed None, instead of P/N. I have used this OS before, and it does work with a P/N switch, but wasn't sure if there was something else going on.

OEM setting on a 1999 - 2002 Camaro tune is None or No Switch (however you interpret this).
P/N settings in the PCM were generally only used on Gen III vehicles that also used a TCM (Allison).

Does this still work in v7.5.7?
I download the files, put them in calibrations folder, but don't see any new options.
Reading other threads is there a cal_link.txt file needed for these?
Forgive my ignorance, I don't know a lot about EFILive software, just recently purchased it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Which OS do you have...?
The cax file must match the OS.
The LS1B_Link.ini file is editable, and is used for scantool->tunetool pid linking... i.e. not required for cax purposes.

Ah, that would explain it. Now I get it...duh makes sense. I needed to copy/rename 1221256.cax to 12208322.cax
Thanks for the hint!

Yes, correct.
The instructions in the file 01-02 G.I.T..cax say to rename this file to the OS you're using, 12208322.cax.
You will also have to place a comment symbol # in front of the instructions, or delete the instructions.

Keep in mind that parameter location might not be correct for a different OS when renaming a cax file.

Yes, correct what Highlander said... do not use for an OS that is not mentioned in the instructions (see post #1 above).
