OK, it's a been quite a few years since I've had to add a license to my V2. Just got a new one and it's now activated, updated the firmware and boot block etc.... I just can't remember when the new available/open slot becomes associated with a VIN/Vehicle. Is it when I scan the vehicle for the first time or when I flash it for the first time?
I feel like a such newb all over again.... Any help is appreciated.

Adding to the question.....can I scan any of my OBDII cars and customer cars and data log without having to use a licence? A licence is only used during a calibration flash and not during a scan? thanks....Karl E.

Yes just to clarify, the only time a license is used is when you reflash a computer. Scanning, data logging, DTC reading/clearing, reading the tune etc does not require a license.
