I have a customer doing a conversion vehicle. The ECM is throwing codes for the Fuel Level Sensor, fan, and battery temp sensor (since they aren't plugged in). He disabled all the codes and it still shows them on the scanner. Is there something that is missing?

Thanx,
Erick

Erick...are they showing as a MIL request or soft codes?

I'm not sure. I know he told me if he scanned it with a snap on it would report the codes. If he used a cheapie scanner it wouldn't show anything. If he used the v2 it would only show up under the option for all manufacturers codes. EPA codes showed nothing. He sent the file over to verify the codes had been disabled. Guess i need him to check the codes the scan tool program and see how they are reporting.

There are four types of codes that EFILive can report via the handheld (standalone operation):

EPA Current
EPA Pending
MFG Set
MFG All

EPA Current: Will show all emissions related coded that are currently set as active codes in the controller.
EPA Pending: Will show all emissions related coded that have had one or more tests fail but not enough tests to trip the "Current" threshold and set the actual code. Pending codes help you diagnose a fault before ALL conditions met.

MFG Set: Will show all codes that have any of the following flags associated with them:

Warning lamp is illuminated
Stored code
Current code

MFG All: Will show all codes that have any of the following flags associated with them:

Warning lamp is illuminated
Warning lamp is pending
Stored code
Current code

The Codes are displayed with their status on FlashScan's screen. You should understand what each letter of the code means. Some scanners will only report specific combinations of these letters.
The letters and their meanings are explained below:

For GM: MFPHXNCI
M = The code has requested the MIL to be illuminated
F = Test failed this ignition cycle
P = Test passed this ignition cycle
H = Freeze frame data was captured for this code
X = MFG specific
N = MFG specific
C = Code is currently set
I = MFG specific

So "MFG Set" will show all codes that are causing the MIL to illuminate (M) or are current (C) or stored (H).
And "MFG All" will show all codes that are causing the MIL to illuminate (M) or are current (C) or stored (H) or pending codes (F).

For Cummins: MWOH12CI

M = The code has requested the MIL to be illuminated
W = MIL is pending, Code is immature and will illuminate the MIL if/when the code gets set
O = Old code, was set but is no longer set
H = Freeze frame data was captured for this code
1 = MFG specific
2 = MFG specific
C = Code is currently set
I = Immature code, not enough data collected to set code yet.

So "MFG Set" will show all codes that are causing the MIL to illuminate (M) or are current (C) or stored (H).
And "MFG All" will show all codes that are causing the MIL to illuminate (M) or are current (C) or stored (H) or pending codes (W).

Using V7 in pass-thru mode you can select exactly which of the 8 flags you want to scan for using the following screen:
