Doing a swap in an older car. lb7 using a turbo 400 trans, so I assume a manual trans tune will be fine for the ecm segment. ?.?. also I know the bcm is non programmable through efilive, what is the best way for me to complete this swap or can I possibly eliminate the bcm? theft mode will most likely be my issue, wondering how to address this the best.

all help and input is welcome...

thanks,
Ben

Use EFILIVE to disable the VATS, and run just the ECM. Otherwise you can use the BCM as a VATS module only. Since your going with a hydraulically controlled trans, you have no reason to keep the BCM. And find an 02 manual trans operating system to load into the ECM, and have at it.

I bought an ALLDATA subscription so I would have all of the pinouts, diagrams, and what not for my swap.

had a change of plans as I found a zf6 cheap. would you have any suggestions to hook it up to a manual driven speedo? i've searched but haven't had any luck..

http://www.abbott-tach.com/cablex.htm

found this read a lot about it has good reviews ill try it. now for a tach... have you heard of anyone running a tach off the alternator like they did on the 4bt swaps the military used in the blazers when they swaped for 6.5 diesel to the 4bt?

I run my tach off of the alternator, and it works fine. Or you can go with PPE and run one of there tach adapters or most any LS tach adapter to make the tach work since the ECM outputs an LS style tach signal.
