My son is putting an LS1 into a 3rd gen. We needed a PCM and added a VIN to it to maqke the system happy. If we added a VIN for an A4 would it affect the tuning and running of the engine when in fact we have the M6 and not the A4? That's it. SImple question. They can't get the crankshaft to relearn and they're blaming the VIN.

LOL! Update. I went back to the guy that loaned me his VIN for the PCM and he confirmed that it was for an m6. Thus NLP is blowing smoke again and the VIN is not the reason for their difficulties. So, never mind. I have an appropriate VIN for the engine and tranny configuration.
