LM2 to FSV2 cable?

I am curious if anyone has tried going from RJ12 on Flash scan to the usb port on the LM2 module? Sorry if its been discussed or tried. Picked up an LM-2 and assumed to much thinking if they were both hooked up via usb to the computer they would see each other but no such luck. I bought the FSV2 in 2008 mostly to turn the vats off of security systems thinking GM would put the kabosh on that along time ago. thanks in advance
