View Full Version : How does table B3649 work if 14.63 is not used

Table B3649 is a semi-open loop table that uses the O2 sensors to update the AFR only WHEN 14.63 AFR is inputted into the table. If you put any other value into the table it indicates that the PCM will be in full open loop operation with no O2 feedback and no STFT control. So, if this table commands say 13.5 AFR, where is the feedback coming from? Does it use the VE table- if so, why use table B3649 at all? Why do you need to set STFT idle to disable in table B4108 don't we want STFT correction?

Which vehicle / OS is B3649 in? Post up a tune with B3649 in it if possible.

B3649 is a custom operating system that I am using in a GM 2002 Trans Am. It is shown on page 17 of the EFILive Custom OS upgrade tutorial documentation for LS1.

B3647 and B3649 do semi-open loop trimming when set to EQR 1.00 (i.e. regardless of B3601).

( i.e. stop using AFR units and start using EQR units )

The OL feedback on stoich cells (EQR 1.00) is from the STFT's.

Note:
- B3647 is based on gasoline, so stoich (EQR 1.00) represents 14.68 (see B3601).
- B3649 is based on E10, so stoich (EQR 1.00) represents 14.2 (B3601 would have multiple stoich values).

Post your tune file.

Chances are that you're running the gasoline tables only.

Yes, you are correct, I am using B3647 table which is the gasoline table. I think that if I specify an AFR of say 14.0 in table b3647 then the computer looks at what values are stored in the main VE table for airflow to figure how much fuel to inject since there is no feedback from the O2s. If my wideband indicates an AFR other than 14.0 then I need to go back and edit the VE table. If I change table back to 14.63, do I need to change the STFT idle (table B4108) to disable? What happens if I leave it enabled?
Also, I am trying to update the EFILive software and I am getting "unable to determine the installed version. the specified file could not be found. Which file is it looking for? I have build 230 of version 7.5.7.

The contents of B3647 should have no effect on B4108.

For non-trimmed (i.e. non-stoich) cells in B3647, yes any deviation in wideband measured lambda requires you to feed that (as a correction) into the VE table.

Since I can't update my existing software, my only option is to download. Will downloading delete any saved tunes in the bin folder? I am also assuming all license info is stored in the V2 interface so it will not matter what computer I use to tune the same vehicle as the software will recognize the vehicle with the available license- right?

No it will not delete your saved tune files... but go ahead and back them up any way (make a copy of the bin folder).

Correct, PCM licenses are stored on your V2, so you can connect it to any PC.

Please download from here: Update-Jun-21-2014 (https://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?24295-Update-Jun-21-2014)

and install both V7 and V8, and from V8 S&T flash the new firmware into your V2 (and configure V2 BBx)..
