Are you following post #1 in this thread: Cacl.VET thread (https://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?15236-Calc-VET-correcting-MAF-and-calculating-VE-(in-single-log))...?

If you have no wideband, you have to edit the CALC.SELBEN pid in calc_pids.txt to always use CALC.LTFTBEN.

In your maps, you forgot to include the units on the axis (in map properties, on Col and Row tabs, checkmark Show Units).

Joecar has already told you what to do.

i.e. in calc_pids.txt change this:

*CLC-00-220
factor 0.5 1.5 .4 "iff({CALC.CL}, {CALC.LTFTBEN}, {CALC.WO2BEN})"

to this:

*CLC-00-220
factor 0.5 1.5 .4 "iff(1, {CALC.LTFTBEN}, {CALC.WO2BEN})"

using a non-formatting editor (e.g. like Notepad, and not like Word).

And of course, you will have to filter out all data for which CL is not 1 (i.e. with LTFTBEN only, then only the frames for which CL is 1 are valid).

Where you have "iff({1}, ...)" remove the br aces from the 1 so it is simply "iff(1, ...)".

No worries.

He's ok, he assumed you knew how to edit CLC's (which is a fair assumption).

ok i think i got it 17174
sorry if i offended any body...
so the displacement issue... i have 2 trucks one is a 5.3 and one is a 6.0...
do i just change displacement per cylinder in the brackets in the calc_pids.txt every time ??
or do i use whole displacement of all 8 cylinders in litres or cubic centimeters ???
where can i find in depth info on editing clc's ???
also when i updated there was a dropdown list that let me select displacement cant remember how to get back there or if it was a perminant change

No... use VE units g*K/kPa... using these means you don't need displacement.

See here: Collecting-links-to-scattered-material->post#21 (https://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?2990-Collecting-links-to-scattered-material&p=130988&viewfull=1#post130988)

great! now its starting to make more sense looking at the math on calc_pids.txt
this is quite the learning curve...
now to do some logging...will report back soon.

ok so heres a few pics of my maf adjustments171961719717198the first pic is after i pasted and multiply
second pic add average % of LTFTs 9000hz - 12000
ok so the last pic is it all smothed the paste and multiply dosent work ???
is this because the rpm in scan tool and rpm in tune tool???
now to mess with idol cuz it wants to stall...
and reset fuel trims...
does this look ok?

The drop down of the MAF table from 9000 Hz to 12000 Hz has to be manually applied to below 9000 Hz, which the third pic looks like you have done... if the MAF continues to be a smooth monotonically increasing 4th order polynomial curve, then it is correct.

When you get that error, it means you copied without labels.

[QUOTE=joecar;208722]The drop down of the MAF table from 9000 Hz to 12000 Hz has to be manually applied to below 9000 Hz, which the third pic looks like you have done...

When performing a Closed-Loop MAF Calibration, normally only those MAF frequencies below 7000-8000 Hertz are adjusted. This leaves the MAF Frequencies above 7000-8000 Hertz totally 'uncalibrated'. A technique to estimate the upper portion of the MAF Curve is to add the Average of the LTFT1 and LTFT2 Banks (LTFTAVR), and apply that percentage to the upper portion of the MAF Curve. If done correctly the entire MAF Curve will have the same slope from 150

do you mean above??? the upper portion right from 9k to 12k??? or apply the LTFT average to the lower portion???

Yes, using CALC.LTFTBEN, but first you have to do this:
- edit the transient filter to exclude all data for which CALC.CL is not 1,
- edit CLC-00-220 in calc_pids.tzt to use only CALC.LTFTBEN;

edit this:

*CLC-00-220
factor 0.5 1.5 .4 "iff({CALC.CL}, {CALC.LTFTBEN}, {CALC.WO2BEN})"

to read like this:

*CLC-00-220
factor 0.5 1.5 .4 "iff(1, {CALC.LTFTBEN}, {CALC.WO2BEN})"

the maf corrected map on narrowband??? col row should be what exactlyYes, the newer Calc.VET replaces CALC.PE with CALC.CL... make sure you use the newer calc_pids.txt file.

Post #1 in the Calc.VET thread shows you how to make a MAF map (goto B5001, do copy-with-labels, go back to map properties and for row and col do Paste labels).
