Alright, so I have done the physical swap and now I am into the tuning. Since I changed the engine size, transmission, driveshaft, etc. I am just going to retune from the beginning.

I currently have a 12212156 OS on my PCM (this was upgraded as I have a 2000 Silverado). My question is, can I just download a stock 12212156 OS file and start tuning from the beginning?

The reason I asked this in the transmission section, is I wanted to know if this would keep me from having to do a segment swap for the 60E to 80E upgrade. I would just need to do a FULL flash and not just calibration flash.

The second question is that I downloaded a 12212156 OS that has 4WD. Would this affect the truck at all if I don't have 4WD or does it just ignore the 4WD parameters?

I couldn't find a 2WD 4L80E tune in that OS.

In the tunetool:
- open your 12212156 file (with the 4L80E segment),
- open the stock 12212156 file as the alternate calibration,
- compare the two files,
- select the stock file differences you want to bring into your 12212156/4L80E file,
- click update,
- save your file.

( doing it this way will keep the 4L80E segment and will simply update only the tables )

OK, so maybe I am misunderstanding. The stock file that I have already has the 4L80E in it.

So I basically downloaded a stock Silverado 4L80E tune with my same OS and changed it. My thought process was instead of segment swap I could just change a stock file and do a FULL flash to get the segment with the stock flash.

Does that make sense? In other words, can I just flash the attached file with a FULL flash and it work with an 80E?

If the stock file contains a 4L80E segment, then yes simply do a full flash of the stock file.
