I have a 2007 ram 5.9 stock, with cold air intake and straight pipe. I want to make it fun to drive with decent milage. I have a decent tune worked out but want to get a little more power. I can get the power but leave clouds of smoke. I would like to reduce the smoke and get the boost to come in quicker (lower RPM) if possible. I believe it is the stock turbo but it does not build boost until 2200 rpm is this normal for this truck? when I hit 2200 it bulds boost and goes but until then it is gutless. I just want it to have quick throttle response from a stop and not smoke out the town every time I get on the go peddle. I can post my tune if need be. I have mostly played with main injection duration and a little with timing but am afraid of going too much. I tried air density table and maybe went the wrong way as I had more smoke but I changed a few other things that time also. I am pretty new to efi and trying to learn.
