Can I create my own custom OS? I wnat to change the OS number is posible [Archive]

I want to protect my work, on a E40 PCM
Lock it so it can't be read.

changing the OS number, and creating my own calz. file.
The issue with that is the software does reference the OS number for a number of functions (DMA PID's, OS compatibility).

I'd like to let ppl edit portions of the file, but not everything,
I'm not sure how you are going to do that.

I want to make certain changes. I've done a lot of work the file in hex.
