How is it possible to get a raw pulse count off the factory VSS sensor (ie how many teeth it has picked up since a stop)??

Working on a function to arrive at feet traveled, based off of the factory sensor (tire circ. and gear incl.). I currently have a calc.pid now that gives me driveshaft rpm based from the vss.

Any help would be appreciated.

With the current V7 software I do not believe it is possible.

In previous versions of EFILive (V5) there was an integral() function that would calculate integrals such as distance tavelled based on VSS and time. That function was not compatible with other features of the Scan Tool and was removed.

The problem with integrals is they require "summing" of values over time. That is not available in V7.

The best you can get currently is how far the vehicle has travelled since the last frame. If there was a way to sum those values then you could compute distance travelled but unfortunately there is not.

A new type of calculated PID is under development to support integrals. It may be available in the next major release: version 8.
