Does anyone have a known good clean LB7 OS that works with and Edge Insight?

I have been struggling with my Edge Insight and after a couple of updates I was told I need at 03 or newer OS for the Insight to communicate properly.

You got to use the OS that came with the truck. IE you cannot update an 01 to a 02OS and expect the insight to work (even after changing around vins). I ended up doing some searching on here and found a 01 OS that works just fine. If you cant find it by tonight ill dig through my stuff and let you know the exact OS.

I will share with you what will and what will not work.

The Edge CTS uses a check system to verify VIN# vs. OS#, so if you try to use a 2001 truck with any 2002 OS it will not work unless you change the 2001 ECM Vin# to a 2002 Vin#.

The OS that is preferred for a 2002 OS swap into a 2001 truck is 15186006, this OS does not work with serial switching with an EDGE, an Autocal or a V2, you must use a 15094441.

If you use 15094441 with a 2001 truck and re-vin to a 2002 vin# all is well.

I made Ross aware of the issue with the 15186006 OS and he has it on his "White Board" to fix hopefully at some point, but given what he has on his plate I would not expect it to become a priority to fix any time soon as he has much bigger fish to fry.

Here is an OS that will work for your 2001 with a 2002 OS/CTS.

Thank you very much for the info guys. I have tried ever OS I have on file but changing it to my 2001 VIN so it sounds like that might be the problem. I was even going to the extent of changing my TCM from the 01 OS to an 03-05 OS with no success.

Tony I will try your tune tonight without changing the VIN and hopefully it will work.

You have to use a 2002 vin in the ecm. A 2001 vin with that OS will never work

I used the tune you supplied and nothing. Then I found my old old stock tune from my old 02 and nothing. Then I found an 03 stock tune and still nothing.

For what its worth, I tried every combination to get the 6006 to go through with nothing to show for it. I ended up using the 3376OS and running the 01 VIN. I was able to get the truck settled down and working fine with that OS.

The Vin used to work I think, but since Edge updated their units it no longer works.

Let me know if that one works for you.

4 year old bump LOL, I'm fighting a 2001 the guy has a CTS that he assure's is just a display I tried the 441 and 6006 OS ect. Trying the vin for a 02 tonight in the 441 OS I already tried the 02 vin on the 6006 OS with no luck. Won't the oil life be screwed going back to the 01 OS after flashing the 02 ones? I might have to try a few more vin#'s since the on I have is for the 6006 OS. Also the vin is not carrying over from the tune file so I've been changing it in the scan tool, any other suggestions to get a CTS to work it's getting the "Not supported PID message" and shutting off?

2002 15186006 DOES NOT WORK, there is an issue with that OS, its never worked in 10 years, the earlier 441 OS works fine on 2001 and 2002 vehicles as long as the VIN is a 2002 VIN Number when reprogramming a 2001 ECM.

Thanks Tony but no luck on this one, tried the 441 OS and a few different vins from 02 with no luck. I'm going to get a few more vins to try but this one shows 000000000 for a ecm serial # so that may be part of it. It had trouble licensing it and it had showed a blank for the ecm serial before the first try but it did eventually take a flash and has taken them fine since the first one has gone though. Figured I would give it all I could to try and make it work. I couldnt get the vins to carry through with the tune files they show 00000000000 also after a flash, tried updating them in the tune tool with no luck but they take in the old scan tool software.

If any LB7 ECM has any corruption at all its junk, do not use it.

The CTS must be able to identify a valid VIN Number to work, otherwise it will not load any gauges for monitoring and will not work to switch tunes.

We know EFI-Live has tried everything they could to make these ECM's flash and return to health, but they are not going to be fixed with just a FULL FLASH, chip needs to be removed/replaced and then a clean file loaded.

If you use a corrupt file read from an ecm with corruption and use it as a base it corrupts the new/good ecm.

That is the reason I only use clean/stock TIS Files I get myself.
