Hi Paul,

Welcome to the forum

Read post #1 of this (and any pages it links you to): Calc.VET (https://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?15236-Calc-VET-correcting-MAF-and-calculating-VE-(in-single-log))

Also read the V7 scantool and tunetool user manual pdf's.

Install both V7 and V8 software from here: Update-Oct-5-2014 (https://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?24704-Update-Oct-5-2014)
Then setup your V2 as shown here: Setting-up-a-FSV2-from-scratch (https://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?20699-Setting-up-a-FSV2-from-scratch)

What year/model/vehicle do you have...?

As long as it is a good working unit with the GM tuning option and still has available space for more licenses, $450 is a good price. You will also need to buy a license for it to tune your car unless this V2 already has been used to tune your car and has a license associated with your car. Licenses are $125. If this only has the Cummins tuning option, it will cost you $450 to add the GM tuning option (which also includes 2 licenses that can be used for GM or Cummins).

Good point regarding the GM vs Cummins tuning option.
