i am working building a set of tunes for a 5.9 with 180hp injectors, 85% cp3 fass220 built trans and 66 silver bullet turbo. I got a small tune on it right now and runs good but hazes at idle and leaves the cloud of smoke behind it. in need of advice on what is possible I need to change on the truck.:doh2:

Lower your main timing in the smoking areas and log to see if your running into a area of your pulse map of increased fueling

ok 2007 5.9 I will look at the tune. but still trying to see if I can do 650 to 700 rwhp in this truck. I will data log it with the customers autocal.

I can post up the tune if need be.

Biggest issue I see so far is you didnt disable the main injection pulse limiter.

And you need to log it to be sure its actually hitting 140mm3, since thats where you have the majority of your fueling at, if it never hits that it'll never feel stronger.

ok thanks man. ya I just saw that in the tune. going to change that and give it a run

Disable your post injection as well. You also have some limiting tables that need to be opened up to help the ECM deal with managing the extra power.

Still have a hard time with people who say to disable something that can be very helpful and effective when tuning. Yes the OP should modify the post but just arbitrarily deleting it makes no sense.

I understood post injection was used almost completely for emissions. I suppose it could be used to push some extra fuel to help with spool up on a big charger without changing the timing. I've never tried that though.

ok had customer road test the truck doing better but crusing egts are 1000 before was 700. I am looking at the tune to figure which limiting tables need changing. so change pilot and post injection tables in fueling or in timing or both.

Look at what tables reference each other. All the ECM is really doing is running values through an equation to produce the desired fueling and timing. You need to get some catalogs too

truck is doing a lot better. trying to get customer to dyno it to see the hp and tq numbers. but working on other tunes for him as well. but not sure on a few of them. trying to get a mileage tune for him. but the csp5 setup is a lil confusing to me.
