View Full Version : TRAK CAM super rich?

Just checking, I put in a TR Trak CAM ( 232/235 .647 .599 112lsa ) and just put the LC-1 on. I started with the autove doing the +15% and it was spitting gas. not joking either.

I went through two times now and its still showing .89.

Everything looks right. Startup and the wb is showing the super lean 17.86 which it did on my SS, and then drops down now after having to reverse the autove and then lean it up 5% 3 times.

Do killer cams always run this rich? Possibly the LTHeaders richening it up even more??

Its getting there and now that its leaning up its not coughing and spitting. I actually now can hookup the vacuum line to the brakes now and it keeps running ( crane cam vacuum canister on the way already ).

Also: anyone have a tune out there with a cam like this.

You will probably find the lower map points you need to use the jedi force as the overlap will likely throw out your WB. Once the rpms pick up things should start looking better.
You could try the bidirectional controls for spark and fuel to adjust things down low so it runs smoother.
The recommendation is to reduce low map points by up to 20% from stock due to the lack of efficiency of large cams at this point. Eg 1200, 800 and 400 rpm points.

What are you trying to idle at...RPM?

My car's stock (01 Z06) VE at 1200RPM, 70 kPa is about 68%.
With my cam idling, at 1200 and 70 kPa, the VE is 34% - 14.00 afr.
My lsa is 106*. The accurate VE is 50% of the stock VE.

I did the bidirectional to get the spark and afr for idle. Worked really well too :D
Used autove to get the idle after finding the spark and its running great now. Took it out 2 times and its already running 1.0x and .99s :D Just gotta love that.
Now to work on the spark.
