Was wondering if efi live is capable of 2003-2005 Cummins tuning yet?? Or is it still in beta testing??

Efi has chosen to not support the 03-05 trucks. Focus is now on the 4th gens.

There are multiple posts stating this on this forum.

That's a bunch of b.s. for 2 years they said they were working on it, Cindy from efi live even said that. There are so many truck owners out there that want it.

They never said they were supporting them...Cindy said that it was on the development table and that they were looking at supporting them, but it was never promised.

I guess efi live isnt as great as everybody thinks. Its amazing that they can seem to keep up with the Duramax ecms, but can figure out the 03-05 cummins

All Duramax ECM's are CAN-BUS based communication. 03-05 Cummins is SCI which is Chrysler specific portocol. Two very different protocols and apparently more work then all of us think it is.

I know the industry has been hoping and dreaming of real tuning for the 03-05 trucks

Do you or know anyone that has done the newer ecm swaps into the older chassis??

Yes it's been done, there are 2-ways to do it.

Piggyback which works sometimes and the builder is hard to reach.

Straight swap and repin but you lose all dash function

Have you done any tuning with the piggyback method? What is all involved with that method?

I have, there is a gentleman that makes a harness that allows you to run a 06 and 04 ecm simultaneously, you'll have a constant cel, and from what I've heard recently the guy who makes the harness is very hard to contact.

Do you have any contact info for him? And is there a way to get rid of the cell or just live with it?

No way as I know to remove the cel.

I'd really like to find a way, I have a bunch of customers begging to have efi live on the older trucks

The only option is UDC on a Smarty Device. It's not EFILive but its completely possible to make decent tune with it for a custom setup. I've done an ECM swap, not worth the cost compared to UDC in my opinion.
