Hi all, I am new to the tuning world and would like to buy a tuning software. I was leaning more towards efi live than hp tuners (98 gmc sierra, 411 pcm and 2001 Camaro). I've got a few questions that I hope can be anwsered before I go ahead and buy the software.

1: the V2 software comes with 2 licsences, if I register them both and sell a car down the road, can I de-register it and register a different car?

2: will the tuning software also scan (pid, crank relearns...)

Thanks for all your help!

1. No you will have to buy a license for each new vehicle or ECM.

2. Yes EfiLive includes very in depth scanning and logging software.

2. More specifically: the software includes a bidirectional scantool (logs pids, reads OBD-2 data, activates solenoids, initiates CASE relearn, clears trims).

1. Licensing with EFILive/HPTuners is simple, you license the vehicle/ECM and those credits are tied to that controller for LIFE. Swap PCM/ECMs, need another license to flash that controller.

2. Yes, EFILive has a fantastic scan tool setup and can do all of the things Joe mentioned. Remember some are controller specific and not all actions apply/work on all PCM/ECMs.
