Do you have the csp5 switch in the truck and trying to read to stock tune on the truck? Or trying to flash through the csp5 switch with the stock tune on the truck?

I was having the same problem today. I was able to read the factory file out of the truck just by using the V2 only then transferring to my computer using EFI Explorer. I had no problem converting to CSP5 and flashing the tune into the truck

Is there a chance that those trucks already have a tuner on them? (Smarty, BD etc), they will block the ECM from being read out.

One had a Diablo I believe and the other had some weird one he plugging in a injector connector or something. And the third has efilive with autocal tuned. There's no way to make it readable without dealer?

And two of the three removed the previous tuners and put back to stock before I tried to read

What's witech?
It is what the dealer uses as there scans and flash tool. It's like the TechII for GM's

You can't, not even the Tech Authority website tells you what to use, once you enter in the VIN you then need to choose which file to have the dealer tool flash it (pretty lame).
You can narrow it down with EFILive, in V8, click on the 'OBD-II' button, then 'Auto Detect', then 'Get Info' once it knows it is a 'CMB' ECM, that will tell you what calibration the ECM currently has. It'll say something like '35325531AS'.
Users need to do something similar with the 2010+ ECM, that is covered here -

Turns out there is a bug in the EFILive software that prevents CMB (06-07) controllers (and possibly 07-09 as well) from being read.
We're working on a fix asap. The fix will be posted in this "known issues thread" under "Issue 7":
https://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?25174-Known-issues-with-Feb-14-2015-release-of-the-EFILive-software-and-firmware
Aplologies for the problem, I'm working on it non-stop until its fixed.

No problem, for what it's worth it was caused by a silly thing to do with a change we made for the 2010+ Cummins additions, shouldn't have affected the 2006 ECM but it sure looks like it did.

I also had this problem. I first had the $0322 code. I applied the patch and now it attempts even less and reads "Script file not supported by current software version".

Run the V8 software and click on the [Check Firmware] button. Then click on the [Update Files] option.

What are the boot block and firmware versions and dates?
Can you post a screen shot of the [Check Firmware] screen?

I highly recommend downloading and installing this version: https://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?25175-Update-Feb-14-2015
After installing the V8 software, click on the [Check Firmware] button, you should be prompted to update the firmware to V2.07.79.

Installed the update and reinstalled patches and it worked. Is there any way to tell if stock files are corrupt like the CMC controllers?

I tried to read a tune from a 2006 cummins this morning and it failed to read the tune. I was using v8 build 269 to read it. I got on here and see these patches to correct failed reads on cmb 849 controllers. If I update to latest release will these patches still be needed?

If you update to this version here:
https://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?25314-March-2015-EFILive-Release-Candidate-1
then you won't need to apply any other patches, everything is included.
You must install both V7.5 and V8.
Don't forget to update your FlashScan/AutoCal firmware using the V8 software's [Check Firmware] button.
