Very pleased with a new PB today
11.619/116mph and 1.583 from a car that can do 30mpg at 70mph (113kph)

Self Tuned with EFIlive and using the custom operating system.
Mods as in the sig.

Today it had almost no knock - it was really weird - more timing than ever - burst knock disabled -

This log was done during a 11.645 run and with a 1.59

Good work on 11.619s

Good work on 30mpg

Can see your cold air intake working (...smiley goes here...)

Your TFT seems a little low, opinion says fluid has best grip between 60C-80C, but it should be ok.

Knock, I see/hear it some days and then I don't on other days, I've been going round-and round with it. :bash:

Are we only allow 4 smiley's...?
A smiley is worth at least a whole sentance.

VERY NICE!!!! Gongrats!!!!

With times like that you'll have to put a cage in the car (assuming there isn't already) ;)

oztracktuning
May 6th, 2006, 10:34 AM
In Australia
cages are needed faster than 11.000s

ps.
The car is very well mannered on the street - thanks to EFIlive and careful choosing of mods.

Better start saving for the cage then, you only have 6/10's before you "need" one ;)

Great result:notacrook: , you've obviosly put alot of effort into your setup, both engine and chassis, well deserved

Well, that's a great package you got yourself there, my cam is a little bigger than yours but I have a feeling I wouldn't run an 11.6 :bawl:

Cheers,
Ross

Does size really matter when you know how to drive it?

Just got the car dyno'd again on the same dyno
it was in the same state of timing and afrs as in the 11.619 run.

The only change since last time was a BBK 80mm polished TB and a 160 Thermostat.

Very pleased that it made 274rwkw locked and an even better 273rwkw unlocked. This is 367hp and over 400hp (maybe up to around 422) if done on a dynojet.

Here is a dyno chart and log

Flyer, good work mate, your efforts are paying off.

What is happening with those tiny wiggles in the IBPW, can you make it's scale 0-40ms rather than 0-500ms.

I wonder what she'll do with the QTEC's open...?

oztracktuning
May 19th, 2006, 09:21 AM
It only seemed to gain around 1rwkw open and LOUD !!
The full exhaust is quite good it seems - just one big straight through muffler at the rear and the Y pipes for the QTECS make it quiet enough.

Just did another PB
11.509 at 117.4mph and with a 1.569 60 footer.
Done at a race weight of 1645kg 3625lb
on ET Radials

Did 10 times today in the 11.5s and all 60 footers under 1.580 with a best of 1.558.

Also did a run starting in 2nd gear (no first) and ran 12.062/116 with a 1.85.

You must have shares in race track, or at least an apartment near by :D

What happened to 1st...?
Any DTC's...?

oztracktuning

The settings make it start in 2nd. If its placed in 2.

I really dont race that often. Its about once a month on average.

I really dont race that often. Its about once a month on average.Oh, you mean you started in manual 2nd (...you didn't lose 1st gear due to breakage...);

when you start in 2nd, do you then manually shift into 3rd, or do you have D0919 set to do it...?

oztracktuning
May 29th, 2006, 03:20 PM
I didnt want to start in 2nd - it was put in 2 by accident!
It would hit the limitter in my car (the other table isnt populated)

Hey OzT take a look at this post http://www.4secondsflat.com/Spark_plug_reading.html

You will like the tuning for WOT section based on the recent AU forum discussion.

When are you getting your EGT analyser :)

oztracktuning
May 29th, 2006, 10:44 PM
OK so how much and where for an EGT sensor? Then what temps etc.

Its a good article. I have used the dyno to learn more info - but the car has to be tuned moving to give the numbers that work on the dyno. Thats how i have done things.

Here is a video of the last race meets 2 races. Both in the 11.5s with 1.56 60 footers.

Do you run a cooler thermostat Steve? Your ECT is lower than stock, or do you control with fans?

joecar
June 3rd, 2006, 06:16 AM
OzT, that's good tuning and good racing, good work mate.

I like how your log chart shows spark following dynair and trqtrans following cylair... cool.

oztracktuning
June 4th, 2006, 02:20 AM
Thanks. Its interesting how they all line up.

My car has a 160 thermo - but i have raced that cool before by pushing it to the pre-burnout box and starting it there.

Yes the fans are set to try to keep it near 82 C. However on this day i was mostly starting it not long before the race. Might see how it goes if kept warmer though - as it did make more power on the dyno with warmer engine oil while maintaining cool ECT and IAT.

It is much less prone to knock at 82 C than at 98 C

Another PB last night

11.414 with a best mph of 118.6mph and a best 60 footer 1.551

Done in 8 deg C and 29.90 at 100% RH

The track was skatie or it would have been quicker - can see in the log VSS going up and down - all the way down the strip.

Race weight 1620kg with driver.

ringram
June 14th, 2006, 07:20 PM
Wow, huge gains recently, you might get into the 11.3's. Nice IAT too though.
Any more mods planned?

oztracktuning
June 14th, 2006, 10:47 PM
Probably a Meziere water pump. It passes the rules i have for the car - nothing can be done that will deteriorate fuel economy.

The Meziere brand pump i am hoping will gain 7rwkw and 0.1s.

The ultimate goal would be 11.0 in any freak weather conditions at above 1600kg with driver. Maybe next winter. Ive run out of money this year.
