New v2 won't connect $0023

Just purchased a new V2 and when I plug the v2 into my laptop it will not connect and I get a $0023. Most of the time even plugged in the screen on the v2 will be lit up but will stay blank. Other times it will go to the normal menu screen. If the v2 is plugged when I try and open the scan and tune software it will say $0024 efilive_hapi is not running also sometimes I get a $0025. If I plug my old v2 in everything works as it should. Also when trying to connect to the new v2 it will cause the scan and tune program to freeze and not respond however if uplug it it is fine and unfreezes. I'm not the most computer literate person and i'm lost with whats going on. The fact everything works fine with my old one confuses me.

First, go Start->All Programs->EFILive->V8->EFILive USB Manager, unistall the driver, installer the older one.

Sorry to be so useless but I can't even find where to do the first part with windows 8 :unsure:

In Win8 there's a program tile named "Desktop", if you click that it will show the traditional Windows desktop.
