I am getting a $0281 error when trying to read the TCM file out of a 05 Sierra Denali. I read the PCM file out without an issue. I just read out a A40 TCM and a T43 TCM without issues too. The T42 controller is the correct one right? Any insight on what the problem could be?

Just try the autodetect function in V8, it should pick the correct controller for you.

An '05 should be an LS1B so the trans segment will be in along with the engine tune. No separate trans controller.
