Not sure which forum to post this in but this one seems the most popular so here goes.
I want to hardwire a plug for my interface cable in the console instead of using the OBDII cable. I want to do this so the interface can always stay attached in the console without having the huge cable hanging out from under the dash all the time. My questions are:
1. Does the EFILive interface use pin 14 (Entertainment and Comfort data) in the OBDII connector? Can I simply hook up power (pin 16), ground (pin 4 & 5), and serial data (pin 2)?
2. If I use switched power for the interface but leave the serial data and ground attached to the interface, will the interface load or pull down the serial data buss when the interface is powered down?
3. Is there a document showing the pinout of the 9-pin Sub-D connector on the interface?
