Ok, there is not much I haven't been able to figure out by either reading here or messing with stuff long enough, but this issue has really got me stumped.

So this whole drama started when the hard drive on my laptop crashed, so I bought a new computer and downloaded the latest EFI Live version 8 & 7.5 and proceeded to update the first of my 3 current V2's (Blue Case) I've been tuning with. After updating the boot block it stuck the V2 in dead poll mode and now the Explorer software will no longer connect to the V2 and I cannot get it to load the firmware. After fighting with this for some time I connected my older V2 (Black Case) it said the Boot block version was ok but the firmware needed updating, updated the firmware without issues and the V2 works perfectly, communicates with the explorer software perfectly.

So now I plug my 3rd V2 (Blue Case) in and connect to the explorer and it's having trouble communicating with the explorer software and says its unresponsive, restart computer, plug V2 back in and have the same issue. Plug old black case V2 back in and it's not having any trouble at all. Weird thing is all these V2's had been updated back in march with no issue's, now I've updated to the latest software and the Blue case V2's are freaking out!

So now I have one blue case V2 stuck in dead poll mode, one blue case V2 that is unresponsive to the update software and a black case V2 that works and updates fine. What gives!!???

I'm hoping I just missed some important piece of information about updating that I should have read and this is an easy fix. Keep in mind this isn't my first rodeo with updating, just this first time having these issues.

Thanks for your help,
Wade

If a firmware update fails EFILive_Explorer may no longer be able to communicate with FlashScan.

In that case, boot FlashScan into dead-poll mode (so the two orange LEDs are flashing). You can do that by holding down the Ctrl key on FlashScan's keypad while powering it up. Then start the EFILive Control Panel (Start->All Programs->EFILive->V8->EFILive Control Panel). Then click on the small FlashScan icon that will appear in the system tray at the end of the task bar near the clock. Then select [F6: Firmware] tab page and update the firmware that way.
