I have a 5.3 and 4l60e dbw from a 2005 chevy pickup that I swapped into my 93 gmc. I am putting efans and am having some issues. The engine didn't originally have efans so I pinned the blue connector at pin # 42. Is that correct? Also, does the ecm pull a ground for the fan or does it send 12volts to the relay?

Yes pin 42 is correct on the Blue Connector and it supply's a ground to be used with a relay.

thanks. for some reason mine is not switching ground. i can hook up the tune scan tool and go to DVT (F12) and manually request the fan and when i check it with a multi meter it is not showing that it is grounded

Make sure you set both fans to auxiliary when tuning the ecm.

You may need to update the software in the PCM. I had this happen this week, see my post on the Gen III Page.

Odd because in 05 the 5.3 equipped pick-ups had e-fans standard, I know because I put e-fans on a 05 1500 HD [which did not have e-fans standard] and used part numbers off a 05 5.3 equipped truck to get the stock harness necessary to do the e-fans.
Yes ground as stated above, as also stated, fan settings not set correctly in PCM, should work with no problems.
