I need clear instructions on how to properly setup my aem wideband serial output to data log. I need to know what wiring and connectors I need to get to set it up this way. Is the best way to connect directly to laptop or do I need to use the rj12 female connection on top of the v2 box?
I have done hours of research on this and nothing I find is clear. Please help.
Currently running the latest version of v7.5 and v8 software as well

From this (https://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?12389-Help-connecting-AEM-wb-to-flashscan) thread:

blue wire -> V2 RJ12 pin 2
black wire -> V2 RJ12 pin 5

black wire also goes to vehicle/battery ground.
red wire goes to switched/fused vehicle/battery power.

Thanks for the reply. Can you tell me how to find it in the scan tool to data log once that it wired in? Since this is not a normal pid to just turn on and start using

In the scantool you have to select these pids:
EXT.WO2LAM1
EXT.WO2EQR1
EXT.WO2AFR1
EXT.WO2ST1

Or you can configure V2 to always automatically log those pids as follows...
see Logging Conguration (F6: Logging), checkmark "Automatically Select All Digital External Pids":
kb_article.php?ref=8371-TIPK-2770 (https://support.efilive.com/kb_article.php?ref=8371-TIPK-2770)

You also have to configure V2 to undertstand your wideband:
kb_article.php?ref=5992-UOAZ-4147 (https://support.efilive.com/kb_article.php?ref=5992-UOAZ-4147)

You may have to first configure V2 for BBx (even tho you may not being doing BBx):

Ok another question. I don't see the need at all to use a db9 connector. Can I connect the blue serial wire from the wideband directly to the correct wire in a rj12 cable so I can then just plug it up to my v2?

( the DB9 connector is specifically a null modem adapter, it swaps the Rx and Tx signals )

Do I need to select a calc Ben in the pids to run the serial output on the wideband

You need a BEN pid if you want to use the wideband lambda to correct VE and/or MAF tables.

Otherwise log just has the wideband serial pids in it.

Also, if your V2 is plugged into OBD2 port, you can display wideband serial pids on V2 LCD (you have to dive down into the menu).
