Hey guys have any of you ever done this and I was wondering what a good starting point would be. Should I use a base 6.7 table or a 5.9. I believe the truck will be 6.7 injectors with 250%over and pistons to match.

Also I'm not sure where to put this so I figured since it was a 5.9ecm it should go here Admins move if necessary.

Thanks
Tyler

Good luck getting the 5.9 ecm to run the 6.7 injectors correctly.

How comes? Would it better to just put 06 pistons and injectors in?

What is the problem with the 5.9 ecm running 6.7 injectors?

The 6.7 injector solenoids require more voltage than the ecm can produce.

Well that can be a problem..... Interesting find Les! Your the man like always!

I've delt with a few trucks recently with what you want to do with no success. Swap to 5,9 injectors and problem solved

Would you suggest 5.9 injectors and 6.7 pistons. or get special pistons to match the 5.9 but with the bore of a 6.7.

You can use either 143* BMS or a set of 03-04 nozzles. Both work in a 6.7 bowl

Why not run a CM2100-2350 ?

maybe I should of specified but this is a dedicated pulling truck a 2nd gen dodge converted to a 6.7. So it needs fuel to 5000 rpm. 6.7 ecm only get to 3200 right now I believe.

You are correct...the CMB849 is your only option at this point for full fuel over 4k.

Thats what I figured so thats why I told my buddy to do the 5.9ecm. Les and idea if they will ever get full fuel out of a 6.7 yet

It's not on the radar and I don't see it being so for a while

Thats ashame but I guess with the bigger motor rpm isnt as much a need. Because to make the power you dont need all the revs unlike a 12v where you need a boat load of rpms.

Actually for the 6.7 you need rpm to keep the rods inside...big low end torque and limited rpm with big power will lead to ejection of the stock rods if the tuner isint careful.

IM currently working on pushing that CM2100 over 3900rpm on a pull truck myself, just gotta find those limiters.

Keep up the work. I think we all want to see 5200 RPM one day on a 6.7

True true. good point les

Les, do you know if the 6.7 would run ok on a 5.9 tune with 5.9 injectors? or should it be a 6.7 tune on 5.9 injectors with the 5.9 dcm

You would want to run a timing table suited for the 6.7 bowls.

what is the advantage of swapping from a 6.7 to a 5.9 ecm?

I am at the point now where the engine is a part, I need to pick pistons (probably qsb offroad), injectors (150 horse?) and I am thinking about going to a 48rfe trans. (truck is a 6.7 2007.5 currently)

Biggest advantage is rpm. As the CMC is limited to 35-3800 unless you've caxed around it.

If you run the 6.7 industrial pistons, you can run any cone angle you wish from 124-155*
