My wife and I lived in SA many years ago and gas was comparable to US prices. I was wondering what is it now?

Sure wish I was back there!

Up in the Northern Territory (Darwin) we pay approx $AU1.38 for regular unleaded (91RON) and $AU1.63 for BP Ultimate (98RON). Bit cheaper in southern states

By SA did you mean South Africa or something else? If you meant South Africa I was just there in January and the prices were about $2.60 in both Capetown and Joburg/Pretoria area.

It costs as much to fill my tank as a reasonable dinner and drinks for myself and girlfriend. About R330 I think its R6.31 a litre. (R=Rand)

Course when you convert our monopoly money to real money it skews things a bit.
R6.26 to US$ and about R4.90 to Aus$
