wont hook up to 2012 cummins

I just got the cummins update for my v2 and went to hook up to a 2012 cummins. It wont hook up or read the ecm? any ideas why?

From 2010 Cummins disabled the read option. The Cummins quick start guide contained in your V8 software installation or available on our website explains the processes required in detail. Base files are readily available on the Internet.
