I know this probably a repeat question? working with a 03 lb7 with a zf6 first time this truck is tuned. did the normal injector replacement. went 20% now the truck is hitting 33 psi on street tune I built for it? now I am wondering if I need to pull back the tune some more. Setuping a day to hit the dyno this week. truck has exhaust downpipe and intake horn and ppe boost valve. I was running my mechanical boost gauge on truck

30 is somewhat safe, 32psi and you are on borrowed time, over 32psi and it will blow up. Remove the boost valve and see how it does.

I am commanding 2194 injector pulse with 170mpa of rail pressure. I can post up the tunes in a lil bit.

Get a KENNEDY boost valve and put in it. The PPE is fine for mildly modified trucks, but anything more than that and it will overboost as it is just a poor non adjusteable design. And I concur with the above numbers, hence why I capped mine at 28-29 to play it safe.

I have the same feeling the stock ihi turbos are only good for about 28n psi then they become ticking time bombs. I removed the boost valve last night but the hose was brittle. so getting new hose today and go on road test to see. what psi I am going to hit with out it. thanks for the help guys.
