So here's a little run down of what I'm working on. I have a 2007 C6 Z06 that came to me in somewhat pieces as the factory engine harness was all hacked up, a Holley HP Engine Management was half way installed along with incomplete fuel system wiring, AMS 2000 Boost Controller half way installed etc. The car has a RHS 427 with a DPT Twin Turbo Kit, Powerglide / 9inch IRS conversion, Fore Innovations Fuel System with 3 fuel pumps, and the list goes on. I'm being told this has been an on going project for some time and the customer at this point just wants to see the car fire before really moving towards 100% completion. The customer would like to run a factory ECM and not the Holley system.

I installed a brand new GM Engine Harness in the car and attempted to read the Tune. I received an error message saying that the Tune was locked with a Key. After checking the boxes Try Alt Keys, Assume lock is faulty, try additional unlock strategies boxes, I was able to read out the Tune. The OS matches a 2010 SS Camaro OS and obviously not the original ECM from the vehicle. The Calibration also shows N/A.

My question is can I fire this car with this current ECM? Or am I just shooting in the dark? Attached is the current file that's in the ECM. Since The ECM shows to be for a 6L80E I still need to wire in the neutral safety switch. Since the current goal is just to fire and see the car Idle I wired one of the fuel pumps on a external relay and can turn on manually.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry any 2010 OS's won't work in the earlier ECM's (well you can't flash them in).
If you had a 2010 ECM and physically swapped that in to the C6 it might work, when I say 'might' the constant communications between all modules on late model cars isn't always the same year to yeat, so it is possible there is a module in the 2007 model that is not going to understand what the 2010 ECM is broadcasting. If you can find a cheap enough 2010 ECM it might be worth a shot.

If you just want to VATS patch the 2010 ECM and start the C6 - probably AOK (apart from maybe the MAF type in the Camaro being different to the C6 blade MAF).

Expanding on what Ross mentioned - C6 ABS/ABCS was changed in about 2009 so unlikely to get even an MY10 C6 Z06 OS/Cal to run an MY07 Z06 car. Throttle body is different as well. But worth a try both with the Camaro 12635863 and a C6 12635863. Though from memory Z06 doesn't use this 10 OS. But I may be NFI on that. :O
