Somebody teach/show me what i am doing wrong here. I have followed the calcvet method to get my main ve table straightened out and no matter how much i change the pe enrichment or man ve table my afr holds 14.7-15 idle and 14.0-13.8 when making a wot run. The engine is an lq4 with 243 heads and texas speed ms3 cam. I have a walbro 255 pump/hotwire kit and stock ls2 injectors. 19317

When you did Calc.VET did you also correct the MAF table...?

With B0120 set to 400 rpm, your VE table is never being used.

If you have been editing the VE table, then your air/fuel is not going to change, unless you edited the MAF table.

Post log files.

I have tried to make the new created maf table work and it gives me an extremely jagged map that even when I smoothed it the truck would not run. So I flashed the original back in. I will post a log this evening. Without looking back doesn't the calcvet procedure say to set b0120 to 400? Or was that my mess up?

which V2 firmware version are you running in your V2...?

which V7 and V8 build versions...?

It says efilive_scan.exev7.5.7 (build282) in the scan tool
And efilive_tunev7.5.7 (build282) in the tune tool
I have not messed with v8 at all.

note that V2 firmware is obtained from the V8 update.

Just a question about this, If I tune on a stock pump and then switch to a 255 walbro with the hotwire kit will I have to retune my car?

It wouldn't hurt to check what it's running on the wide band after the swap. But I don't think you it would be a big issue.

Data log before and after. Then compare the results

I got it all working and the wb02 logging data as ithe should. One thing I have noticed is when I have made adjustments to maf and b0101 the engine wants to hunt for idle coming down off light/medium throttle. I have gone through the sspeedemons idle tutorial. I probably just need to go through the idle tutorial again to straighten it out. Does the calcvet method work on the newer computers? Like the e38 computers?

Calc.VET does not work on E38, take a look at the VVE table, typical values range from 500-2500 (IDK what units)...

it can be used to correct the MAF, but I'm not sure how to handle VVE yet...

I'm working on it tho.

I'd like to help you work on that, but I don't have an E38 vehicle. Do you know anyone with an E38 who would be willing to do tuning changes and logs for me?

Hey statesman, thanks appreciated.

I'm sure we can find some people to log for us.

I currently have a e38/e67 vehicle (not for sure which) that I have licensed that I could log and make changes. The vehicle is completely stock though

we'll figure out what the CALC.VEN pid should look like, and then we'll log (as if we're correcting MAF), and then we'll compare the CALC.VET map to the VVE table.

The difference in VE between LS1 and E38:
LS1: VE table ranges around from 1.0 to 2.4 g*K/kPa.
E38: VVE table ranges around 500 to 4000 (and we don't know the units).

As joecar has already said... stock is good.

I'll send you a PM.
