I am doing a little tuning work on a 2008 Silverado (5.3L w/E38, 4L65E w/T42) and was trying to download the current transmission adaptive shift cells. I connected to the truck, selected T42 and tried to use the function (\ Calibration \ Auto transmission adaptive shift cells), but it was greyed out. I disconnected, and re-connected selecting the E38 ECM but also checking the Automatic transmission check box. Same thing ... the Calibration \ Auto transmission adaptive shift cells was greyed out.
Is there a way to download this information from a T42? I have used this function before with a LS1B PCM.

LS1B was a special case, it could be done. I don't think the T42 (or any later) can do it.

OK, was thinking maybe I was doing something wrong.
I saw the Allison had the same function listed right below the LS1B in the menu and figured there must be a way to see what the newer TCM's were doing (either T42's or T43's).

And the LS1 F-car appeared to not use adaptive shifting, all the adaptive shift cells were always zeros.

It exists in the newer TCM's - just probably not stored in the same way. Would be nice to have those adapt values and then be able to put them back into the TCM calibrations so that the vehicles would be closer on initial start and wouldn't need to relearn the adapts (or at least not learn as much).
