It's been awhile since last time I have been on, I see they have out moded some PCM's. Here's my question, I have a friend that asked if I can get into a 2004 caviler and do some tweaks and reflash it. I still have the v1 flashscan cable, Is it possible?

Thanks
Shawn

Thanks, however I dont know if I can connect and reflash if I buy a licence. Can I only do the vehicles listed on the above link?

Yes, with a FlashScan V1 you can ONLY tune the vehicles listed in the link limited cv8r posted. If you want to tune newer vehicles (anything that is CAN-communications protocol based or Dodge), you'll need to upgrade to a FS V2 (http://www.efilive.com/upgrades/upgrade-from-v1-to-v2-with-gm-tuning-option) which is $499. This allows you to transfer your unused and used PCM licenses to the new FS V2 (if you have 1 used/1 unused on V1, you transfer them to the V2 which comes with 2 new VIN licenses for a total of 1 used/3 unused).

You can connect and try to read the tune out before purchasing a license, you only need to license the PCM when you go to reflash it for the first time. I'd suggest reading the tune and making sure you can do what your buddy wants then purchasing a license.
