View Full Version : E38 VVE Calculated Airflow

Does anyone have a calculated PID to calculate VVE airflow (g/sec) for an E38? I noticed the PID in the BBX PIDs, but don't see it in EFI Scan V7.5. I'd like to compare MAF airflow against VVE calculated airflow.
EFI_V8PIDS
ECM.MAFSD
Thanks in advance!

Have a look at this calc_pids.txt (attached)...
CALC.VEN calculates VE in g*K/kPa from MAF [g/s].
CALC.MAFN calculates MAF in g/s from VE (via VVE mapped to VE [g*K/kPa]).
Try it out and let me know (post logs) so we can fix it if necessary.
( possibly we may have to edit it to suit your wideband )
** you have to rename the file to "calc_pids.txt"

Thanks Joe!
I went through the Calc_PID test file and tried to make sense of it. lol
I attempted to change the BEN factor from Lambda to AFR since that it was the NGK wideband outputs, unless I use another Calc PID to go from AFR to Lambda. Thought it would just be another step. Does it look right?
Can a SELBEN be created to use LTFT with AFR is equal to 14.68?
Is there anyway to calculate VVE values or coefficients like CALC VET does on the Ls1B PCMs?
Maybe I should just get some logging done! Haha

Looks correct
( can you see that CALC.WO2BEN and CALC_BEN_NGK1_E38 are now identical )

I'll add a SELBEN pid shortly.
Yes, please take some logs.
