Hey guys I just ordered a custom switch panel that I want to use with blackbox logging. I know it will have much more use when v2 comes out, but in the meantime is there a way to wire the cable to a external switch to activate the BB logging?

No, the connector on the PCB is not designed to have wires plugged into it. Anyway, opening up the unit would be a good way to void the warranty :)
