View Full Version : 2011 6.7 delete problems, non US customer

Hi, guys.

I'm non US based and well aware of EFI live policy for allowing deletes for non US diesel trucks. Actually I deleted a couple of LMMs with no problems.

Customer asked to delete 2011 Ram 6.7
So I ordered a Cummins upgrade, then things became a little strange.

Questions are as follows.

1. Can't pull stock file from the truck.
ECM type detects ok, but shows red cross and throws error message when i try to read it. Is it normal (like LML Dmaxes) or not?

2. Is it possible to turn off eco stuff with EFI live like Duramaxes? Or are there different approach for Cumminses for some reason?

Can't see any EGR or DPF options in stock 2011 Ram 2500 6.7 files downloaded from the web, can't find any non-US 2011 files either.

It would be great if somebody from EFI live crew would clear things a bit.
Sole reason for ordering Cummins upgrade was deleting newer Cumminses, I have "other" tuner too and can do things with 5.9s without additional expenses. Right now I wonder if $450 were basically thrown away.

You will no be able to change any emissions parameters with EFI. The parameter's you have is all there is.

Got it. Thought Cumminses were no different from export Dmaxes in this aspect. Think I'll stick with Chevys.

EFI Support for the 2010+ Cummins is the same as it is for the 2011+ Duramax with respect to emission parameters.

There are no emissions parameters for 2010+ Cummins. The Cummins Quick Start explains that the read is blocked, how to find a matching base file, how to manage the heightened security on the ECM (you won't be able to flash modified tunes until you remove the RSA security) and that for decent logging you'll need to upgrade to CSP given the factory offering is so lacking.

Cheers

Thanks to all for explanations.

Cummins quick start here https://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?26479-Cummins-User-Guides doesn't open, other guides open ok. Could somebody from EFI team look into that? Thanks.
