View Full Version : Timing wont do what i tell it to

We keep running up against the same problem when tuning the LS1B (commodore). I set my timing values and in the high and low end the computer seems to pull timing out and i cant work out why.

I have logged knock retard and it doesnt seem that this is removing timing.

I have set high and low octane maps to what i want - they are the same.

I am aware of minimum timing tables and have cheated it this way previously but Im sure this cannot be the right way to do it.

What might i be missing here? Could it be to do with torque limiting setting?

Also is there any way to set the timing for MAP rather than grams/cylinder pressure - it seems to be able to log it in MAP but not set it this way which is the way we are used to tuning.

Cheers!

Log the pids named GM.EST_xxxx_DMA these will show where timing is going

( EST = Electronic spark Timing )

Thanks heaps! Burst knock was the culprit

Post some logs (indicate the frame number where it happens).
