I have a 98 f-body swapped to a 99 pcm running the COS5 OS. I'm concerned that the egr system shows "not supported" in the emissions System Readiness Test. When that parameter doesn't match my '98 VIN build that will fail an OBDII test correct? Any help?!

I believe I am allowed one "not ready" before failing. Would a "not supported" fall into the same category maybe?

I believe I am allowed one "not ready" before failing. Would a "not supported" fall into the same category maybe? No, in CA they now require NONE not-ready.

The not-supported will raise an alarm on the CARB central computer (so to speak) in Sacramento because the car came with EGR supported.

Look at the EGR DTC's in C6001 and set them to either A or B.

I'll have a look at c6001 this evening. If it helps I'm in Georgia where the tests aren't quite as bad as California I hope.

There is a good chance I misinterpreted what you guys were talking about in the post I linked. I thought you were basically saying a "not supported" would read "ready" at the emissions test.

I guess I also should have mentioned I don't have an EGR system anymore.

Yes, a not-supported shows up as ready.

Ah, ok, in your case set all the EGR DTC's in C6001 to Not-Reported, and set all the same DTC's in C6002 to MIL (as in MIL enabled).

Ok, good deal. That's the way I had it setup originally. When I saw the "not supported" that threw me off and got me worried. Sound like I should be good to go. Thanks Joecar
