I have searched on here but no luck yet. Has anyone been able to unlock the ECM on a 17 truck? As far as I know the EFI software supports them, but bullydog hasn't yet released an update. Bullydog said that some tuning companies figured out the unlock before they did. Thought I'd ask.

Yes we do support the 2017's for tuning once unlocked.
Not sure on BD's update but you could always send it to Fleece Performance for unlocking, they can do 17's.

The whole ECM goes to Fleece, or they can remote tune them?

The whole ECM needs to be shipped to them, but the tune security disable is permanent and can never be reversed back by an update.

Flash in a OEM 15 file, then do the unlock. Then flash in whatever file you want thereafter. We've done many to date.

If the customer drives the truck after unlocking, they will have a DEF code until it's tuned for deletes

When did they change the DEF harness.. i think in 2015? Is the harness the same 15-17?

I believe 15-17 is the same yes, if you are not deleting it you will get a code because of it.

16+ don't have a ammonia sensor which is the code that trips when using a 13-15 stock file.

Not sure as I don't use a 16+ file, I flash a 15, unlock with BD then delete tune it.

Yes for the longest time, Bully Dog could only unlock up to 15 files, so you'd flash a 13-15 stock file in, then unlock it. Now with EDGE having unlock capabilities, you don't need to do this extra step.

The flash restriction is for MODIFIED files. The 15 file they're referring to is completely stock. It will flash in without unlocking the PCM.

That is true for any 2013+ ECM, they will all happily take a stock tune, doesn't matter what year or model.
