I am working on a swap into my 68 Chevelle. I have dual fans, and I want to run a vintage air A/C. I would like to get the computer to work like the Camaro setup. Can I have my computer flashed at the dealership? If so how do I do this? Or will EFI Live allow me to just make the changes to the truck calibration? Thanks in advance

Which PCM do you have (what year/model/vehicle is the donor)...?

This might be hard. I have mounted it tight into the inner fender. Where would the number be located? It cam from a 2000 GMC Yukon XL2500

Read the tune from it (does not require any licenses), save it as a file, then post that file here.

I tuned an LS1B (which is what your PCM should be) with vintage air set up a few months ago. The efans were tied to a trinary switch and worked fine. If you want to take advantage of the PCMs control of idle control and efans, it's more involved. But to answer your original question, you can control efans with the truck OS.

As JoeCar said, reading and posting the tune will confirm the operating system and vehicle type.

Thanks for the info JoeCar and LastCall. I dont have the swap ready to read the tune yet. I hope to finish my wiring in a few days. I will then post it up.

Thanks guys

I have attached my stock tune. It appears to be a LS1B

It's a 2000 SUV tune. I would recommend converting it to a 12212156 operating system, trucks and camaros both ran them. You can get them on the DropBox site

To get a sense of the fan control capabilities of your current OS, look under System and then Fans. To run the fans with the factory triggers, you would select "Series Parallel Fans" and then copy the settings from a Camaro to start. Or just load a Camaro tune in and do a full flash.

You would also need the 3-relay circuit to run the fans in parallel/series.

Good point JoeCar.

This is a pretty nice set up, a bit pricey.

If you upgrade to the 1256 os, i can change the A/C type on it for a vintage setup AND efans.

I wired in my own 3 relay setup. Just like the wiring diagram you attached. I verified on wire grounded gives me low speed. Both wires grounded gives me high speed.

LastCall how do I convert my operating system to 12212156 operating system? Not sure where the DropBox site is. This is all new to me. Sorry for the dumb questions. I did change the SUV tune to "Series Parallel Fans" I wanted to change the on and off temps. But it would not let me. So I flashed the car and tried it out. The fans did not come on. The coolant got to 200. I then grounded the wires myself to turn the fans on and let the car cool off. I shut the car off until now.

LastCall I also noticed you have a 2.9 Whipple. What are your numbers? Do you like it? Would you go that route again?

The factory tune usually turns on well past 200, usually in Fan 1 in the 220's. If you lower the temps, try to keep the relationships the same. I've attached a Camaro copy of the 1221056 tune file. It is all stock, so if you use it, you will need to transfer all info you changed in your current tune file. You will also need to do a full flash (not cal flash). One note, you can tune the fans on the DVT tab of the scan tool. Just hit activate and then Fan 1 on and Fan 2 on.

I'm not sure what this set up will make, haven't finished it yet. Truck was in body shop for last 8 months, so gonna start back up on it. Need to do the fuel system and trunion upgrades before pushing too hard on it. I do like the Whipple, much better than the Maggie 112 I had before. Runs really cool (20-30 above ambient), and power doesn't fall off up top. Took some modification to make the 2010 Camaro kit work with truck accessories. And yes, I would go this route again. I'm hoping for 750rwhp at 15 psi on E85.
