engine reved up on its own?

Hello to all, This is my first post on efi live forum. Thanks in advance for any help.

I have a 2007 dodge 3500. built trans, twins, and all the supporting mods. I have been tuning now for a while on it but this morning it reved all on its own. I have a log that I caught it on. How do I post my log file and tune file for yall to look at?

yes, if you look at the log, it was on csp#4. The only thing I saw was I forgot the change the pilot timing base air density table. I am only using pilot below about 1500

so im looking at the log and right before it revved up it looks like it was loosing rpm and adding mm3 to try get it back up.. for some reason the pilot timing was getting really low... the tune and log seem to not match pilot timing...(im looking at tune 4) and also the pilot timing in the logs are actually BTDC

ahhhh thats your problem... i see it now in the log if plot pilot DURATION it goes to zero before the surge

I wonder if me having the pilot timing base air density table zeroed and the base pilot table oem level made it do that? It scared the crap out of me, I was in the shop and heard my truck rev hard and thought someone was stealing it. Had to run out side and check

it must interpolate between the two tables and if it called for 0 deg of pilot timing then it just skips firing pilot all together or shortens the pulse... good rule of thumb to make both tables the same that way you dont get unexpected results... interesting find tho
