Tried to run the scan tool (V2) 7.5 and 8 on the Buick and it would not communicate. I found on the E38 PCM references to pulling the radio fuse. Have not tried that as of yet but will do it this weekend. The E39 controller was loaded in 7.5 and 8 and still no communication. In 8 I had the computer hooked up and and roling code problems on the DIC like StableLock off, Radio off, tire pressure warnings, etc. It is a 3.0L V6.

Are there any other work-around I should try this weekend.

When you connect just FlashScan to your vehicle does the lower right corner of the display show CAN-XX where XX is a number?
If yes, then FlashScan is communicating with the vehicle, if no then there is some fault preventing FlashScan communicating.

You mentioned error $0200. That error occurs when a file cannot be opened on the FlashScan device. That may be a case of the Data file system on FlashScan needing to be reformatted. You can do that using the FlashScan option: F4 Options-> F2 File System -> F3 Format File Sys. WARNING all files will be erased from the device so if you have any log files or tune files on the device that you want to keep, you should try copying them off of FlashScan onto your PC using EFILive Explorer. Although if the file system really is corrupt then you may not be able to do that.

Pulling fuses is really only necessary if/when a read or flash fails. If you are just scanning/logging then you should never need to pull any fuses.
