A little background info:

I'm putting a 2002 LQ9 engine (6.0L 10.1:1 compression) into a 95 chevy pickup. This engine is used in the 01+ Cadillac Escalades, 03+ Silverado SSes, 04+ Vortec high output pickups, and I believe in the newest Yukon Denalis also. I am putting a 4L80e automatic transmission behind it.

My problem is there is no stock vehicle with an LQ9 engine and 4L80e tranmsission. The closest thing is a LQ4 engine which has 9.4:1 compression and 4L80e transmission, in the 3/4 ton pickup trucks. I have a 12200411 PCM from a pickup with this combination. However, I don't think this is an EFI Live supported OS?

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to cobble together a way to run my LQ9 engine and 4L80e using the PCM I have, the FlashScan package I have, and the least amount of additional money/hardware? Thanks!

What year is the PCM out of? You need to know PCM operating system number, but thats only available after you connect to it. Its not on a sticker. 99-02 truck PCMs are physically similar, as are the 03-05 models.

I suggest you get a PCM loaded with a 2002 GM truck VIN from a 1500HD or 2500 model that has the LQ4 and 4L80E. Make sure it has a similar transfer case if you are 4WD (autotrac or not).

Tuning differences in the LQ4 and LQ9 are minimal. There isn't anything magical about having a specific tune for an LQ9 vehicle. The LQ4 tune will be fine since you have flashscan to adjust timing and fueling.

Hey, small world. I figured the service number on the sticker corresponded to the OS number. I'll hope for the best once I get things wired up and plug in FlashScan. The PCM I have is from a 2002 LQ4/4L80e with manual transfer case, basically exactly what I need besides the LQ9 tuning.

Next week is the big week- I have all the parts I need besides the OBDII connector itself, and some transmission cooler fittings and such. It was a real task tracking down all of the inline harness connectors that I needed. Fuel lines were a pain as well. As long as all my parts arrive in time I should have a good chance of getting the truck running by the end of next week.

I must have missed this post.
The 12200411 is the GM part number for that PCM, walk into a GM dealer and quote that for a new PCM.
That PCM will run any O.S from 1999 - 2002.
Given you said it is from a 2002 truck I am pretty sure the O.S will be 12212156.

Ross

Jes, go to the corner and hide
Damn, that O.S is one of the few we are yet to support.
It's the first implementation of the ethanol fueling stuff.
But never say never, it is in the works.
12212156 would really be a good choice in this case :)

Ross
