I have a 2006 GMC Sierra 5.3L. I replaced the fuel pump module.
The fuel pump and sending unit was still working fine. A body shop removed the bed to do a little paint work and @ 225,000 miles I thought it would be a good idea to replace it given the opportunity.
With the stock unit it would turn on the low fuel light and show empty at about 290-310 miles. I always fill up and set my trip every time.
The new unit will turn on the light about 360-380 miles. I put 2 gallons or gas in a can to get me off the road and let myself run out just to see how far it would go, it went 428 miles.
Is there a way to reset my gauge back to the way it was?
I have V2 BTW
