Long story short a buddy hardwired a cable to his standalone ecm, CMB Cummins. He plugged in my flashscan and now it just has a blue screen. No truck or computer will get a response from it. No lights on it are on except when first powered the blue light comes on then goes off. I can put it in dead poll mode but the laptop errors and tells me its not in dead poll when trying to use the firmware updater. I believe it has lost it's firmware and is dead. I cannot get any data out of it. If this thing a paperweight? This is my production V2 so I need to get this figured out ASAP.

I have tried updating firmware with V8, explorer, Firmware updater, efi control panel. Nothing seems to work as it recognised the v2 is plugged in but says no response or $0101. Im out of ideas. Have searched but can't really find much.

He had the RJ45 wired in like so, Tab down
1-12v+
2-can+
3-can-
6-ground
8-ground

I don't believe 6 should be grounded. Been a while since I wired mine in. I also don't know if this is how it's wired when it was plugged in. This is how it was when I got there but he had it apart a few times and he may could have changed it. He isn't an electrical guy.

There's no way to know what is wrong with the device until/unless you return it to EFILive for repair. Contact SoCal diesel http://www.efilive.com/distributors
