Blacky thought somebody here may know.

I have a question about the VSS signal. Does anybody know if a split ring w/ magnet type pickup would work ? http://www.markwilliams.com/driveshaftPickups.aspx?CategoryID=266<--- like this

I swapped my LS1 into a 88 Camaro Drag Car, and am using a th350, and thought this would be te easiest way to monitor driveshaft RPM. I know there are different tailshafts, and adaptors available, but thought maybe somebody would know if that type of signal would be recognizable by the cpu. I know that with EFI Live I can correct the pulses to read correctly.

Thanks, Jason

The link doesn't work. Is it a hall effect type sensor? I don't *think* those will work.

Link fixed :)

"Part Number(s): 57644 Magnetically triggered switch normally open and closed with magnet passage. Same as supplied with Racepack Computer Systems. Fits 3/8" diameter hole in mount bracket."

Thanks for any help.

I believe the stock sensor is a pulse motor (maybe not the correct terminology). I don't think those switches will work. But I'm not 100% positive about that.

Will a 4L60E reluctor wheel fit on a TH350 shaft...?

The 40 tooth reluctor wheel fits on the T350 output shaft. You can use the non-Chevy tailshaft with the large speedometer driven gear boss. The early 4L60-E VSS pick-up will work just fine. The speedo needs to be set up like an automatic, not a manual to work.
